“Opiate Use Disorders and Transitions to Long-Term Care”
About the Speaker:
Marilyn White-Campbell is recognized as a Canadian pioneer in the treatment of substance use issues in older adults. She is the provincial lead and co-chair of the Older Adult Substance Use Collaborative with Behavioral Supports Ontario. She is currently on secondment to the Community Responsive Behavioral Team at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph and Specialized Geriatric Services at CMHA Specialized Geriatric Services Waterloo Wellington, as well as a Geriatric Addiction Specialist for the COPA program in Toronto, one of Canada’s first addictions treatment programs for older adults. She is a co-investigator and co-chair for the alcohol working group to establish national best practice guidelines for Geriatric Addictions with the Canadian Coalition for Seniors Mental Health and the Canadian Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry.

These rounds provide a learning forum to review leading practices in the assessment and supportive management of challenging, responsive behaviours; and offer practical approaches to support the work of front-line healthcare providers in caring for persons with responsive behaviours.
Baycrest Behavioural Support Rounds occur every 3rd Thurs of the month from Oct. – June.
