The Ontario CLRI at Bruyère is seeking an experienced, preferably bilingual, Education Coordinator to support the team in the design, delivery (in person didactic and interactive sessions, coaching, online or blended) and evaluation of education projects and tools. The Education Coordinator’s responsibilities include delivering education activities, often in collaboration with LTC sector stakeholders, proactively connect and communicate with a variety of project partners, including LTC homes, sector stakeholders and the Ontario CLRI teams at Baycrest and Schlegel-UW RIA. The Ontario CLRI education program’s goal is to support the learners’ personal and professional development, help continuously improve individual and team performance, and contribute to their organization’s success with their strategic plan. The education programs are built around leading practices to ensure that standards are maintained and using different modes of delivery.
This position will require teamwork, flexibility, attention to detail, initiative, creativity, judgment, as well as problem-solving and time management skills to address non-routine tasks. This role will involve some travel in Ontario. This job description is not exhaustive. Additional duties may be added as the project progresses.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Education and knowledge content development, delivery and evaluation – 35%
- Deliver and evaluate Ontario CLRI education (staff and entry-to-practice) and training and programs for a diverse group of LTC team members (different levels of management, registered and unregulated team members), volunteers and family/care partners.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate the development of and contribute to the delivery of educational products and programs.
- Consult with LTC team members, trainees and family/care partners to assess their current and future learning needs and to feed into the development and delivery of tools, resources, activities, and/or programs to meet these needs.
- Engage stakeholders to promote training and education.
- Coordinate with external vendors responsible for the creation of eLearning modules.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Project coordination – 35%
- Assists with detailed planning, delivery and monitoring of educational and learning activities including: schedules, progress, coordination, deliverables, milestones and contracts, development and budget tracking.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of education and training initiatives and other projects with general supervision from the CLRI manager or CLRI initiative leads.
Other support – 15%
- Establish and maintain networks of stakeholders and partners in the long-term care sector.
- Provide support on the development and implementation of knowledge transfer.
- Correspond with external stakeholders and investigators.
- Work with Ontario CLRI team to develop, implement and disseminate research and innovation projects.
Administration and Communication – 15%
- Contribute to Ontario CLRI short and long-term planning as appropriate.
- Represent the Ontario CLRI at events.
- Work with communications team members to promote and communicate education and knowledge translation activities.
- Others duties as assigned.
Required Competencies:
- University or college level training in relevant fields, including healthcare disciplines or adult education
- Three or more years relevant experience in delivering education and professional development
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for adult education and group facilitation
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders to achieve goals and tailor education content for the target audience
- Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), webinar platforms, and Learning Management Systems or other e-learning environments.
- Highly motivated, detail oriented individual with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines within a high demand environment.
- Self-directed and able to effectively work both independently and as part of a team (primarily with those based in Ottawa but also with Ontario CLRI teams in Toronto and Waterloo)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment and with multiple internal and external partners
- Strong listening, facilitation, and debriefing skills with individuals and teams
- Exceptional communication skills, including written and verbal (in English)
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment
Desired Competencies:
- Experience working and/or education and professional development (particularly nursing) in the LTC sector, retirement, senior’s care, geriatrics
- Knowledge of and experience working in Ontario post-secondary education system
- Ability to communicate in French with internal and external partners.
