New Careers in LTC web page a resource for students and educators

Posted On: October 22, 2021

The Ontario CLRI at the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging has launched a new online resource for students and educators to explore careers in long-term care.

We know there is a need for more resources to profile options in long-term care to the younger generations: clri-ltc.ca/careersLTC will help promote long-term care careers to secondary and post-secondary students.

Students interested in engaging with, supporting, and helping older adults and individuals living with a disability should consider and explore careers in LTC, says Shilpi Majumder, project manager at the Ontario CLRI at the RIA. “This resource will help connect students who want meaningful careers with the impact they can make in LTC.”

The careers page is also designed as a curriculum tool for educators to use with students interested in health, food, social work, recreation therapy, and more!

The Careers in LTC website features

  • LTC careers descriptions
  • Related careers
  • Tools for educators to use in curriculum planning
  • Videos and more

Please share this resource with your networks and help us spread the word to secondary school educators, students and parents!
