A Journey to Healing: St. Joseph’s Care Group’s Commitment to Supporting Indigenous Culture and Advancing Truth & Reconciliation

St. Joseph’s Care Group (SJCG) serves as a cornerstone of comprehensive healthcare in Thunder Bay, Ontario, extending its reach across the Northwest region. Rooted in their mission to meet the unmet needs of the people of Northwestern Ontario, SJCG operates a multifaceted healthcare organization that includes a rehabilitative care hospital, two long-term care homes, seniors’ supportive living, community mental health, live-in and day treatment for addictions, withdrawal management and virtual care. Throughout the organization, SJCG has been making efforts to provide culturally safe care and support Indigenous cultures through a broad range of initiatives and actions. Amid systemic barriers that adversely impact health outcomes, SJCG’s strategic initiatives mark pivotal steps toward healing and equity.
