New Thickened Fluid Recipes for the Summer!

Soak up the summer sunshine with refreshing, fruit-inspired drinks! We’re excited to announce that our Nutrition in Long-Term Care team has added six new, delicious, thickened fluid recipes to our collection of Nutrition in Disguise Recipes for Long-Term Care!

Residents can experience taste fatigue with traditional thickeners used to thicken fluids. Our Thickened Fluid recipes provide an alternative thickening agent… pureed oatmeal!

In addition to being a base for these thickened fluids, oats provide fibre and key nutrients. These IDDSI 2 and IDDSI 4 level drinks blend the fresh flavours of mango and pineapple with classic pairings of banana and strawberry. A huge thank you to Chef Joshua Fumo for these recipes!
