Long-term care team members work together to make mealtimes enjoyable and safe for all residents. This course prepares you to safely support residents with dysphagia during mealtimes. You will learn to recognize the causes, signs, symptoms, and impacts of dysphagia, and understand how it can affect nutrition, hydration, and overall well-being. Through interactive activities and scenarios, the course introduces the elements of safe eating and drinking, including proper positioning and the use of adaptive devices to promote safe, comfortable, and supportive mealtime experiences for residents.
