About the Presenter:
Dr. Anne Holbrook,MD,PharmD,MSc,FRCPC is a Professor in the Department of Medicine and Director of the Division of Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology at McMaster University. Her clinical practice combines Clinical Pharmacology and Internal Medicine services, and specializes in the care of hospitalized adults with major, multiple comorbidities and complex medication regimens. She is an international leader in promoting evidence-based therapeutics through research and education. Current projects include randomized trials to determine whether improved coordination of high risk medication management in patient transitions of care from hospital to home lowers adverse outcomes; developing and implementing interventions to improve prescribing competence and skills amongst medical trainees; investigating the degree of personalization of results reported in high profile randomized trials; and implementation of a national Pharmacare program.
She is one of the most experienced expert advisors of drug policy in Canada, influencing all levels of government and budgets in excess of $5 billion annually.
