In partnership with Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO) , we’re excited to recognize the extraordinary efforts of PCL champions who are dedicated to creating supportive and life-affirming environments for residents, family care partners and team members.
The Person-Centred Language Award celebrates residents, family members, team members or leaders who engage in inclusive, verbal and non-verbal communication practices that focus on the individual and their unique preferences and needs. Through their passion and commitment, person-centred language champions help foster an environment of compassion, dignity and respect.
The winner will be recognized at Ontario Long-Term Care Association (OLTCA)’s This is Long Term Care 2026 conference! The winner will also receive a personalized Plaque of Recognition and will be featured in a story in the BSO and Ontario CLRI newsletter/website.

- Nominees may be affiliated with a long-term care home (e.g., residents, family/friend care partners, team members, volunteers or leaders), or be external partners who support people living and working in long-term care.
