Are We Meeting the Needs of Minority Populations in Long-Term Care?

This webinar focuses on ethnic, linguistic, Two-Spirit LGBTQ+, and immigrant minority populations in Ontario LTC homes. A summary of existing research on minority populations’ access to LTC homes will is shared, including barriers and facilitators. The presenters also discuss Ontario population-level data on hospitalization and mortality of LTC home residents belonging to minority groups and explore the role of culture- and language-specific LTC homes to improve quality and equity of care.
