About this Program
This free, virtual training program helps Ontario LTC homes integrate the OPCN Palliative Care Competency Framework into their palliative approach to care. Using realistic scenarios and tailored resources, it provides a structured change-management model focused on actionable strategies, proactive planning, and evidence-informed practices.
Through a phased, roadmap-based process, participating homes break implementation into manageable steps that reduce cognitive load, leverage existing tools, and support consistent collaboration. The program fosters peer-to-peer learning and cross-disciplinary knowledge exchange, helping LTC teams build capacity and strengthen their palliative approach to care.
- Designed for: Clinical Coaches, PPSMCs, and Ontario LTC team members (including educators, managers, HR professionals, leaders, and others involved in palliative care).
- Format & Commitment: 2.5-hour virtual workshop + two 1-hour virtual follow-up sessions. Teams are encouraged to attend the workshop and both follow-ups.
- Wage support: Wage support is offered to participating learners at a rate of $30/hour for LTC team members, upon request.
