Daniel Kapustin, MD FRCPC is a geriatric psychiatry subspecialty resident at the University of Toronto. He has been involved in research focusing on the neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia, neurostimulation, quantitative neuroimaging, sleep health, and chronic pain. He is an alumni of the University of Toronto’s clinician-scientist program. He is the recipient of the Canadian Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry’s subspecialty resident award and is an AAGP honors scholar.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:
- Describe the risk factors for suicide among older adults, as well as protective factors
- Consider issues related to suicide among LTC residents and associated with dementia
- Identify suicide warning signs
