About Us

The Ontario Centres for Learning, Research and Innovation in Long-Term Care (CLRI) enhance quality of care and living for residents across the province.

In support of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Long-Term Care, the Ontario CLRI partners with the sector to build capacity through training, education, innovation and knowledge mobilization to improve the health and well-being of people who live and work in long-term care (LTC).

Who We Are

The Ontario CLRI is funded by the Government of Ontario and hosted at Baycrest Health Sciences, Bruyère, and the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging. The collective expertise, resources and partnerships of the host organizations help advance the Program’s provincially mandated goals.

What We Do

The Ontario CLRI helps the province’s 600+ LTC homes to enhance the quality of life and care for residents. The Program educates and trains the current and future LTC workforce and provides solutions to pressing issues, including an aging population, care complexity and workforce challenges.

Learning

The Ontario CLRI develops, delivers and evaluates educational resources and programs to train the current and future LTC workforce. We build on partnerships with colleges and universities to provide in-person, blended and virtual training for interprofessional teams, as well as student placements and internships.

Research and Innovation

The Ontario CLRI drives applied research and innovation to develop leading practices. We partner with homes, colleges and universities to support research that designs and tests innovative approaches to enhancing quality in long-term care (LTC).

Knowledge Mobilization

The Ontario CLRI connects and partners with people to share innovations and evidence in LTC. Our goal is to support the spread of knowledge and the adoption of leading practices in education and care delivery.
