Presenter:
Natasha Wandel is a music therapist at Baycrest Health Sciences in Toronto, Ontario. She received her Master’s of Music in Applied Music and Health from the University of Toronto, focusing on Neurologic Music Therapy®. Her clinical work experience primarily includes inpatient and outpatient neurorehabilitation, dementia care, and responsive behaviours. She is passionate about helping others through music; a powerful medium that is so innately human.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:
- Gain an understanding of what music therapy is and how it differs from other music experiences
- Recognize the various roles music therapy can play within dementia care
- Learn how music therapy can support residents experiencing responsive behaviours
