Cultural humility is a mindset that helps team members recognize, respect and honour the different beliefs, customs and values of residents living in long-term care and guides an approach to interprofessional collaboration.

In twenty minutes, this course explores the core tenets of cultural humility, and examines how these apply differently to each member of an interprofessional team. Through interactive, scenario-based learning, team members reflect on the implications of “typical” care practices on residents with culturally diverse needs. Learners will explore how cultural humility transcends personal practice – it is not only about self-reflection and curiosity, but also about organizational accountability and commitment to equity.
