Recruiting and retaining nurses remains a priority for long-term care (LTC) homes across Ontario. Through Nursing PLEDGE, participating homes receive funding, resources and implementation support to establish or strengthen nursing mentorship programs.
One of those resources is our newly launched Mentor Hub.
The Mentor Hub is an online space where mentors can access content to enhance their mentorship practice and share successes and challenges with peers across Ontario. Whether they are mentoring for the first time or building on years of experience, mentors can find tools and support to succeed in their roles.
The Mentor Hub complements the broader supports available through Nursing PLEDGE, including:
- Coordination funding to support program development
- Backfill funding to cover the time nurse mentors and mentees spend on mentorship activities
- Education, tools and templates
- A monthly Community of Practice
