Dementia Care Preparedness Initiative Results Snapshot

In 2025, the Ontario CLRI led by Baycrest, supported Ontario LTC homes in assessing their readiness to implement an organized dementia care program.

The results snapshot below presents findings from the Dementia Care Preparedness Initiative, based on data collected from 301 Ontario LTC homes.

Insights within the results snapshot include:

  • Strengths, successes, next steps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Current models and approaches used in dementia care
  • Where LTC homes are in terms of implementation of their dementia care programs
  • Environmental factors and future aspirations for dementia care
