FLTCA Alignment: 23-Infection prevention and control program

Infection prevention and control program must include evidence-based policy and procedures, and educational component for staff, residents, volunteers, and caregivers, daily monitoring to detect the presence of infection in the residents, measures to prevent the transmission of infection, and a hand hygiene program. There must also be an infection prevention and control lead in the home whose primary duty is the home’s infection prevention and control program, and who possesses the necessary qualifications provided for in the regulations.
