ECHO Care of The Elderly Long-Term Care

The ECHO Care of the Elderly (COE) Long Term Care (LTC) Series utilizes the “all teach, all learn” model of knowledge dissemination and capacity building to connect LTC team members with geriatric specialists for collaborative and case-based learning.

Each ECHO session includes a short didactic presentation by a specialist on specific topics of interest relevant tocare of the older adults, followed by cases presented by the learning partners. Feedback and recommendations areprovided by the health resource team as well as other learning partners.
Who should attend?
Physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, personal support workers, and all health care professionals working in Long Term Care in Ontario.

- Skin and Wound: Tuesday, October 13 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Acute Deterioration and ED transfers: Tuesday October 20 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Falls and Bone Health: Tuesday October 27 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Dementia in LTC: Tuesday November 3 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Responsive Behaviours: Tuesday, November 18 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Optimal Use of Medications: Tuesday, November 17 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Team Member Grief and Bereavement: Tuesday, December 1 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Engaging Families: Tuesday, December 8 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Flex Session (a session and topic chosen by participants): Tuesday, December 15 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m
Continued support is available through a Community of Practice offered once you register.
Cost
Offered at no cost to participants through funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health.
